Tribute by Ikenne Community & Islam

  • Erinjugbo II The Akarigbo of Remo

A man of his community or as Yoruba people say: ‘a man of the soil’. He was passionate about improving the quality of life of the people of Ikenne. Participating in all local events, he never missed Ikenne community events and was a regular visitor to the town throughout his life

I feel obliged to pay tribute to the Late Mr. Kehinde Sofola SAN, one of the most illustrious and outstanding Nigerian legal luminaries from Remoland, who has left an imperishable mark on the development of the administration of Justice in Nigeria.

Mr. Sofola was a generous and compassionate philanthropist and a highly devoted Muslim.

Mr. Kehinde Sofola was a man of family, a very loving father and a devoted, honest and upright husband. The old genius is gone and his foot prints remain indelible in the sands of time. He was indeed a very great man.

  • Yeye Oodua

The demise of the legal luminary, Mr. Kehinde Sofola, SAN is no doubt a great loss not only to Ikenne people but also to Ogun State, the legal profession and the country at large.

Sofola was an icon whose doggedness and passion for his chosen profession is noteworthy and exemplary.

He was one among the few indigenes who has brought Ikenne community into prominence.

It is unfortunate that he left when his experience garnered over the years is most needed.

His generosity and laudable achievements in his religious and secular life will forever be remembered and cherished.

    Adieu!

  • Anglican Bishop of Remo, Bishopscourt, Ewusi Street, Sagamu, Ogun State.

My first contact with Mr. Kehinde Sofola was at Ikenne on Friday, May 20, 2005 during the First Session of the Eighth Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Remo hosted by Our Saviour’s Anglican Church, Ikenne. I was initially wondering, why the church invited him? I found out that Pa Kehinde Sofola’s love for the Church of God knows no bound.

Pa Sofola was his great humility. Papa’s respect for ministers of God was unparalleled. For an octogenarian like Papa Sofola to address me, sir, I regard it as a mark of greatness from a man of honour, integrity and avowed honesty.

It would be practically impossible to talk about Pa Kehinde Sofola without mentioning his forthrightness and transparent honesty. Yes, he was a man who believed that fairness, justice and equity must not be compromised if our society would be a place where all and sundry are to find fulfillment and live a meaningful life.

Indeed, Pa Kehinde Sofola had affected his generation positively.

May the good Lord unite the children together in a common bond of love.
